How This UAE Forex Guide Gets Checked, Timed and Kept Honest
Every claim on this page traces to a public register, a broker's own document or the clock in Dubai.

Every Statement Here Traces Back to a Document You Can Open Yourself
This guide is assembled from primary documents, not from other guides. When a line mentions a regulator, it comes from that regulator's own published material; when it mentions a payment method, it comes from the broker's funding page or your bank's transfer screen. Nothing is carried over from a summary, a forum post or a comparison table.
The practical test is simple. If you cannot find the source behind a claim within a couple of minutes, treat that claim as unverified until you do. The CMA register at uaecma.gov.ae is public and searchable, so a licence question is settled there rather than in a review. Bank transfer details sit in your banking app, where the receiving entity name is shown before you confirm.
| Document | What it proves |
|---|---|
| Emirates ID or passport with residence visa | Who you are |
| Selfie with the ID document | That the document is in your hands |
Brokers usually also ask for proof of address - Ejari or utility bill; requirements differ per firm. What a particular firm will take is written on its own account-opening page.
Licence Checks Are Split Three Ways, and the Split Decides Who Hears a Complaint
Three regimes coexist in the UAE: the Capital Market Authority onshore, the DFSA in the DIFC and the FSRA in the ADGM. A broker's licence states which one applies, and that single detail changes the route a complaint takes. Two firms offering what looks like the same product can sit under different regulators with different escalation paths.
That is why this page never labels a broker as licensed, safe or best. The register tells you what a licence covers and which authority issued it; it does not tell you whether the firm suits your circumstances. Read the licence entry, note the authority, then check that authority's complaint procedure before you fund anything.
The same discipline applies to payments. Rails are described by type only: bank transfer, local bank transfer, card, international wire. Amounts, limits and processing times belong to the broker's funding page, which is updated far more often than any guide.

A register says whether a firm holds a licence on the day you look, and nothing about how it treats clients. Use the company name from the site's footer - that is what a register will know it as.
The Gulf Working Week Sets the Timing, Not a Generic Session Chart
GST runs at UTC+4 all year, so session times land in fixed local slots. Sydney runs 01:00 to 10:00 GST, Tokyo 04:00 to 13:00 GST, London 12:00 to 21:00 GST and New York 16:00 to 01:00 GST. The London and New York overlap sits at 16:00 to 21:00 GST, which is the stretch most UAE-based traders can actually watch after the working day.
Fitting trading around a Gulf week means accepting that the quiet hours are quiet. The late-afternoon window carries the heaviest activity, and the early GST morning overlaps with Sydney and Tokyo only. If your schedule only frees up before the London open, you are trading thinner conditions, and the guide says so rather than pretending every hour is equal.
Session labels describe when markets are open, not when they are profitable. Use them to plan when you are at the screen, nothing more.
| Part of the day | Local time · GST |
|---|---|
| Busiest window | 16:00-21:00 GST — London and New York open together |
| Thinnest stretch | 01:00-10:00 GST — Sydney alone, wider spreads |
| European open | 12:00-21:00 GST |
| US open | 16:00-01:00 GST |
| Closed | Friday New York close until the Sydney open on Monday |
The hours are shown for the clocks in force today: GMT for London until 28 March, EDT for New York until 1 November. The UAE does not change clocks, so each move shifts these local times by an hour and the page is rebuilt on the day it happens.
Revisions Happen on a Fixed Cycle, and You Can See What Changed
This page is reviewed on a set schedule, not when traffic dips or a promotion is due. Regulator details, session hours and payment rails are rechecked against their sources at each pass. If nothing has moved, the page stays as it is; there is no incentive here to rewrite text just to look fresh.
When a source changes, the text changes with it, and the correction replaces the old wording rather than sitting beside it. A guide that keeps superseded lines around for appearance is a guide you cannot trust on a Friday afternoon when you need a straight answer.
You can audit the method yourself: open uaecma.gov.ae, open the broker's funding page, open your bank app, and compare each against what is written here. If something does not match, the primary source wins.
| Platform | What it is | Who makes it |
|---|---|---|
| MetaTrader 4 | The older standard; expert advisors and a large script ecosystem | MetaQuotes |
| MetaTrader 5 | The newer build; more order types and timeframes | MetaQuotes |
| cTrader | Depth of market and a different order model | Spotware |
| The broker's own app | Usually simpler, and tied to that one firm | The broker |
A platform is software, not a safeguard: the same terminal is offered by licensed and unlicensed firms alike. A high rating is not a permission. The register is where the licence is confirmed.
A Register Entry Can Be Real and Still Not Cover the Account You Are Opening
A company appearing on the CMA register at uaecma.gov.ae confirms the entity, not the specific service you are being offered. The entry may cover one activity while the account you are handed sits with a different legal entity, often offshore. Before funding anything, match the name on the register to the name on the paperwork you sign.
This is the most common failure mode reported to an editorial desk: a reader checks the register, sees a familiar brand, and stops there. The brand and the licensed entity are frequently not the same company. Ask the broker, in writing, which legal entity holds your account and where that entity is licensed.
If the answer names an entity absent from the CMA register, treat the account as unverified regardless of the brand. The register is the starting point, not the finish line. Keep the written answer, because it is the document a complaint will eventually rest on.
| Page | The question it answers | What the answer rests on |
|---|---|---|
| Market hours | When is the market open on my clock? | Fixed session windows, converted to GST |
| Position calculator | How large a position does my stop allow? | Arithmetic in the page, from your own inputs |
| How to start | What is the order of the steps? | Licence first, then funding, then size |
| What forex is | What am I actually trading? | Definitions, with no figures attached |
| Apps and platforms | Which platform will I be using? | What each terminal is and who writes it |
Nothing here ranks brokers or recommends one. A page is only published when it answers a question.
Timing Checks Should Be Run Against Your Bank, Not Just Your Chart
A session overlap on a chart tells you when liquidity is deepest. It does not tell you when your bank transfer will clear. In the UAE, funding runs through bank transfer as the main rail, with local bank transfer, card and international wire as alternatives, and each settles on its own schedule through the Gulf working week.
The practical consequence is a gap between the moment you decide to act and the moment funds are available. A trade planned around the 16:00 to 21:00 GST window can be delayed by a transfer that clears after that window closes. Check the cut-off times inside your bank transfer app before you rely on a session.
Order of operations matters here. Confirm the rail, confirm the cut-off, then plan the trade. Readers who reverse that sequence are the ones who miss the window they were aiming for, and the chart will never show why.
How deposits and withdrawals travel
- Local bank transfer
- Limits set by your bank and the broker
- Card
- Card payment — limits set by your card issuer and the broker
- International wire
- Bank transfer — limits set by your bank and the broker
Limits and fees are set by the provider and the broker and change without notice, so they are not printed here. Read the limits in the provider's app, then on the broker's funding page, and keep the payout route the same as the deposit route.
When the Register and the Broker's Own Page Disagree, the Register Wins
Broker marketing pages describe services in broad terms and are updated on the broker's schedule. The CMA register at uaecma.gov.ae is updated on the regulator's schedule. Where the two conflict, the register is the record that matters, and the broker's page is the claim that needs explaining.
The distinction readers get wrong is assuming a disagreement means fraud. More often it means the broker's page covers a group, a brand or a service that the licensed entity does not hold. That is still a problem for you, because your account and your complaint route follow the licensed entity.
Record the discrepancy with the date you saw it, then ask the broker to reconcile it in writing. If the reply does not resolve it, the CMA is the body that hears the complaint for entities on its register. Do not let a marketing page stand in for the register.
| Figure | Value | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Indicative USD/AED | 3.67 | open.er-api.com, pulled 2026-09-28 |
| How often it moves | Every trading day | — |
| The rate your account uses | Your broker's own conversion | The broker's rate card |
| Symbol on this site | AED | — |
An indicative rate is for sizing a position in your head, not for settling one. Your broker's conversion will not match this rate, and that difference is a real cost.
Corrections Are Logged With the Trigger, So You Can Judge the Delay
Every correction on this page records what triggered it, not only what changed. A trigger might be a register update, a change to a payment rail, or a reader pointing out an error. Logging the trigger lets you see how long the gap was between the event and the fix, which is the honest measure of a review cycle.
This matters because a fixed review cycle can look tidy while missing something that moved between reviews. If a register entry changed and this page took time to reflect it, the log should show that interval rather than hide it behind a routine update note.
Read the correction log as a record of responsiveness, not as a list of mistakes. A page that never logs anything is not necessarily accurate. It may simply not be checking.
| Figure | Source | Checked |
|---|---|---|
| Licensee names and status | CMA register of licensed companies — uaecma.gov.ae | 2026-09-29 |
| Session windows | Fixed UTC windows; London and New York shift in their DST | On change |
| USD/AED | open.er-api.com | 2026-09-28 |
| Funding limits and fees | Set by the provider and the broker — not published here | Changes without notice |
A figure with no source and no date is a guess with good manners. Anything we could not trace is left out rather than printed from memory.
What do I do if this page and a regulator's register disagree?
Trust the register. The CMA list at uaecma.gov.ae, the DFSA and the FSRA publish their own entries, and those are the authoritative versions. This guide is a pointer to those sources, not a substitute for them, so treat any mismatch as a signal to recheck the primary document before acting.
Why does the timing advice lean on the 16:00 to 21:00 GST window?
Because that is when London and New York overlap in local time, and it is the block that fits after a Gulf working day. Sydney and Tokyo run earlier, from 01:00 and 04:00 GST respectively, which suits a different routine. The guide frames sessions around your clock, not around a generic chart.
How often is the content on this page rechecked?
On a fixed review cycle rather than a marketing calendar. Regulator references, session hours and payment rail types are compared against their sources each time. Where a fact has not changed, nothing is rewritten; where it has, the old wording is replaced so you are never reading two versions at once.
